5/24/19

Thursday morning remained rainy. Most of the dandelions were wiped out by the snow, but this one seemed to be standing strong, even when it was frosted

and we had to play hopscotch around all the earthworms coming out to enjoy the wet

one of our baby bunnies is helping out with the yard

Friday morning was finally blue skies again, with enough wind to be whipping snow off the peaks

those splayed back legs get me every time

5/22/19

you could almost catch a glimpse of blue sky this morning

and the mountains peeking underneath the heavy clouds

but Jake plopped right down into one of the remaining puddles. Look at that face.

I caught this photo of him getting up with that happy face right before he shook water all over me

Later, I found the camera had captured the motion too. You can see the shake coming

Started raining again this afternoon, so the gray gloom continues.

But we'll enjoy the moisture and the cold for as long as we can get it.

5/21/19 Late May Snow Day

Now that the poor trees have most of their leaves, lots of them are losing limbs from the heavy, wet snow that fell overnight.

the warmth from the concrete makes for some really cool patterns

They turned the water fountain back on earlier this month, but this is still Jake's favorite form of water

Trevor Noah at Red Rocks

Trevor had a great show, but I'm betting he was rethinking this outdoor amphitheater choice when we were all in coats and blankets and hats and he just had on a light jacket. Yeah, those lights are hot, but I don't think they were heating the stage that much.

The best part about a show at Red Rocks is watching the sky dim and the city light up in the distance.

Middle May

Aidan is willing the sprinklers to come on before we depart

It's after Mother's Day and the water has been turned back on at the dog park, the playground, and, best of all, the park sprinklers. It's go time.

don't know if you can spot that white tail, but the deer is just to the right of the concrete steps in the middle of the photo

frosty leaves yesterday morning

Aidan's favorite game on the way home from the dog park is find the stick and play keep away
