Birthday Eve²
The running joke around my house is that I never seem to have the right number candles.
This time, I actually had TWO 4s, quite miraculous, but no 6. We used an upside down 9 and the two 3s to come up with mom's 66 total.
Mom and Dad's gift is the perfect lampshade for my aspen lamp.
Those are real leaves pressed between the ride paper.
The gorgeous leather journal is from Sam.
I will have to keep only the loveliest thoughts written in it.

7/23/14 Denver Botanic Part 3
Sam finally made it over with me to meet Marci and Ren and wander through the Botanic Gardens.
Early June the Irises were going crazy. Now, in late July, the sunflowers are taking over.

Of the three trips, this was actually the busiest and hardest visit to find a parking place.
It was also the only trip on a weekday. Go figure. But walking through the Cheeseman Park neighborhood wasn't too much a burden. The homes here are crazy eclectic fun.
Afterwards, in what's fast becoming a tradition, was lunch at the Cherry Cricket.
And, for the third time in a row, I was seated in the exact same booth.
