Friday at the Magic Kingdom 12/18

First through our entry point, about 10th onto Main Street on our last day Friday morning about 45 minutes ahead of the posted opening time of 8:00 a.m.

we made it back to Seven Dwarves Mine Train only to discover it wasn't running.

Off to Pan we went.

and then Pirates, still ahead of 8:00 a.m.

and then back to Big Thunder Mountain

I'm on the left!

We had headed back down Main Street to find a snack and found the Starbucks line ridiculously long and nothing available elsewhere. But the princesses were all lined up -- I've never seen this many together, with that horrible brown box as a backdrop.

so back down Main Street we go again, this time over to Liberty Square

AND THE MUPPETS WERE OUT!!

The Muppets had a show here until it was cancelled in 2019 and they've only just returned for the holiday season.

Herewith, entirely too many Muppet photos for anyone but me. They would emerge and do a set, then disappear when one of the Holiday Cavalcades passed by, then come back out, so there will be some parade photos interspersed with more Muppets.

this bit, where Gonzo tries to make Fozzie feel better about his ineptitude with the Christmas lights goes fine on this pass. On the second time, however, the lights that should be wrapped around Gonzo's head fall out the window and stay there for the rest of the set.

This bit had Piggy making Fozzie hold up the mistletoe to try and lure Kermit underneath. She'd run off to try and find him, Kermit would show up and tell Fozzie to take it down, then leave, then Piggy would return and make him put it back up and so on. The pig never wins.

Pooh indicated he liked my Christmas hat :)

Back to Muppets. And Gonzo losing his lights (which appear in all the photos from this point forward until they are rescued by a very tall cast member (end of the video)

FINALLY, the set I'd been waiting for with Gonzo and his chickens!

Sam looks disapprovingly at the lost Christmas lights

see? the gingerbread men are flat on the back

the rest of the crew arrives in time for lunch!

After lunch, Haunted Mansion

This time we also got luckily stopped right at the gravedigger and his dog at the edge of the cemetery

If you aren't stopped, this is what you get

Then, stand in line for Jingle Cruise

and then The Enchanted Tiki Room

outside while we ate a snack, were Chip and Dale and some of the Country Bears waving to everyone

Santa came through again, too

at this point, we lost everyone except Jason and Julie who were nice enough to stay with me while the quitters went home to put their feet up

We hit up Country Bears next

when we emerged, a new set of Country Bears were upstairs waving

we walked over through Tomorrowland and rode Carousel of Progress again

and then we stopped in at Gaston's for Julie to try the macaron Christmas tree

By then it was getting close to the time when the castle should be lighting up with the projections, which is what I was waiting for. We walked back through at just the right time.

that horrible, terrible, no good, very ugly brown box never left all week long.

But our very last MK interaction was getting to see all the Pooh characters at the train station.

Eeyore dawdled while the rest left and he got everyone to cheer for him all alone

Then we were able to socially distance selfie as he made his way down the stairs, very carefully

byyeeee Eeyore

the final shot of the trip, on the monorail back to the Contemporary one last time.
