Remi Comes Home 9/18/22

 So . . . yeah.

We are now a three dog family again.

We had been a three dog family since Feb. with Charlie, Jake, and Aidan.

Then we lost Jake.

Then Charlie moved away.

Bringing Orian home in July, I thought I was done.

But then this face popped up on my feed mid-week and it was a lightning bolt. I tried to ignore it. But I told myself if he was still there at the weekend, I was going to have to bring him home.

He's 11 -- the same age as Jake -- with a similar story, living his whole life with one family until being brought to the shelter with the other dogs in his home because one of the children had a sensory issue.

Because of his age, they found a foster for him, where he stayed for a few weeks in a home with only cats. I put in the adoption application when he was still listed Friday night.

Saturday I heard back that I was the first to apply to meet him and could I do a meet and greet tomorrow? With Orian and Aidan in tow, we made the two hour truck to Fort Collins and came home with three.

And he fit right in, right away. He must have missed his pack. Cats just aren't the same.

I got the stairs that Charlie used out for him, but so far, he's just leaping right up!

LOVES his walks

And any and ALL tennis balls!

But he has a VERY hard time giving it back to throw again.

Welcome home, Remi. You are already so loved.
