September Steph Visit Day 3: The 9/11 Red Rocks Stair Climb

9/11 Red Rocks Stair Climb 2022

To date over $10,000,000 has been raised for FDNY & NFFF and spawned nearly 50 other climbs around the country. 

My first climb was in 2010, the second year the event was held here, but the first on a Saturday. 

The following year it fell on Sunday and I was able to do it again. 

After that, between hip problems and then surgery, and the dates all falling on work days, it was 2021 and the 20th anniversary of 9/11 before I made it back this time with Marci, the summer Colorado resident. 

When Steph saw the above photos she told me to count her in for 2022. And so we did.

while we hung out watching the firetrucks get set up to hang the large flag over the entrance, this little family came trotting down the road.

and then everyone scampered back through the brush when they saw all the people . . .

except this little dude who was out of sight when they leapt away. He looked so lost.

saying bye to Marci until I see her in NYC for a Christmas weekend trip.
