3/4/13 conversations with Nick

I crack myself up

3/4/13 The No Coat Policy

It doesn't matter that she knew it was going to snow.
It doesn't matter that she happens to have several very nice, warm coats at home.
She's a Colorado kid. Therefore, no coats at school, ever.

3-2-13 Nickey Mouse

Nick went to a costume party this week.
He sent us this.
I love my kid.

3-2-13 Sunburn #1 of 2013

The 5 mile walk today under gorgeous blue skies makes me kind of forget I'm a mile high and slightly more apt to fry. Even better, my shirt wasn't centered, so I am rockin' the asymmetrical red.

3-2-13 The Coyote Encounter of the Week

I snapped the photo and by the time I switched to the video, Evan's play buddy had decided it was better to wait in the bushes until we left. You can see at the end, as we were heading out, he decided to take off, too.

3-2-13 Sammi Winter Choir

So it took me several days to wave the white flag and give up ever synching my iphone to my computer again until I take it to the Apple store and tell them I am never updating iTunes again. So stupid.

Finally emailed the files from the phone to myself to pull them off. And, without further adieu, a few clips from the Winter Choir concert on Wednesday.

3-1-13 Donna's Day

Donna's mama published a series of blogs in September 2011, one blog on each of the 31 days of the month chronicling a month of Donna's cancer fight.
It will rip your heart out.
You should read it.

Donna's Good Things grew out of her passing and increased exponentially since the blog series. And, according to Donna's Good Things, today is Donna Day -- because so many Donna's need a cure. St. Baldricks actually uses the money they raise to go to real research, not things slapped with a ribbon for "awareness".

See more of Donna here.

You can donate to St. Baldrick's under Donna's name here.

Donna, you are an amazing little girl who continues to inspire the world with hope, and love, and light, and all good things.

Updated to add a video made by her Dad and shared this afternoon:
