Super 8 Stills, Round 1

From my new toy, some stills pulled off of Super 8 Home Movies so far.

Unfortunately, the Super 8 film resolution isn't quite what we're used to in today's high-def, super sharp world.

The other fun part of running through them on the little portable device is that the screen a size of a postage stamps means you're not super sure what second you're capturing. 

And once you've pulled the film all the way through? You get to hand wind it back. Lessons in patience continue.

Two Weeks Out

Update on the surgery here, since the entire point of having the Hip blog was to keep it from overtaking the general blog.

But, honestly, there's not a lot going on when you're in bed most of the time.

If it's not surgery photos, it's animals. Stuffed and otherwise. Yes. I got very, very bored.

But the big news is, I'm off crutches!! Cleared for driving and except for the 90° mode (so I can't bend past sitting in a chair), I can get moving again. 

Cue the next snow storm!

But look what showed up tonight, a day ahead of schedule?!?

Know what I'm doing all snow weekend! :P

My guy will be the first Pirate football player to walk the graduation stage in half a century this December and thanks to the meeting with his adviser, his final semester in the Fall will be entirely sports courses.  He'll be home for a week at Spring Break next month, and then back for the entire summer from May to August, working as a coach, before his last few months as an undergrad.

Somehow, I made it. 

After six notices saying "your item is still on back order" I had decided I was going to give up and cancel my order.

Lo and behold, this came today. Only took six weeks (when ordering, it said one week) but it's finally on its way!

14 Photos (and a video!) for the 14th

Not your typical Valentines post, but it's not quite a typical Valentine Day around here.

Yesterday was Round 1 of PT; Sam drove and snapped this photo of the minions in the lobby. Last night, with the Game Ready picked up, I was making friends with the regular old ice packs since the leg had gotten moved way more than it was used to.

The stitches are healing up, which means they actually look worse with the pretty purple bruising going on. Sam won't even look at them, but I find them kind of fascinating.

Not the greatest Valentines, laid up a week out of surgery.

This morning, though, I was spoiled rotten from bed with Valentines gifts.

At the end of Day 1, there first three Whitmans are history: so long caramel, maple fudge, and one of the set of chocolate covered peanuts. My favorites are the cashew cluster and the almond cluster, so I keep them for last. And most of the creams will go to Bob and Sam.
