Monday morning's view
The cottonwoods still have tufts on their branches,
but the white drifts along the walkway outnumber them.
the heat and lack of rain has slowed the brook to its babbling baby self
every sign speaks to summer
The blob among the branches along the left line of the house is the horned owl who swooped past and took up sentry position over the field of rabbits. We could hear coyote yips and howls in the distance, but never spotted one today.

front yard view
the barn swallows are back and making quick work of rebuilding their nest for the summer, as well as insisting the porch should not be inhabited by anyone but them.
