Several months ago Nick called and said he and Ali wanted to surprise Bob for his birthday by flying in for the weekend.
Their flight that was supposed to arrive at 9:25 p.m. Friday got delayed so late, that is was actually Saturday, 12:30 a.m. when they landed.
I had tried to time it to get to the airport after they landed, got off the plane, got on the tram, off the tram, up the elevators, and out the doors. Didn't quite work that way. So Bob, who was blindfolded, had no idea we were circling around the airport five times. Each time, we passed behind Blucifer, so this was the first photo of the weekend.
We made it home at 1:30 in the morning, and managed one more photo before we crashed.
Saturday morning:
Mom and Dad treated us to lunch at NoNo's
and Mom made the birthday cake!
Still not quite recovered from that late night, everyone else napped while I took the pups on an afternoon walk around the neighborhood to enjoy the sunshine and blooms.
We took a route we don't hit in the mornings, and Aidan stopped, stock still, thinking he was this close to a bunny rabbit
We went to see A Quiet Place
and then grabbed takeout for home and watched The Greatest Showman and played with puppies.
Sunday
More puppy play
And then Ali and I met up with Amber, her mom, and sister-in-law to take in the early spring blooms at the Botanic Gardens
Ali and I hit up Honey B's for macarons before joining Amber and family at Los Dos
We skyped with Sam and Jason and then took a late nap before taking the pups on a walk.
Macaron time
and, just like that, time to get them back to the airport!
Aidan started out in the back with Jake but decided this was a much better seat.
