Sunday morning we got to share some breakfast with the newlyweds before we headed back to San Antonio with Bill and Julie and Nick & Ali gathered up everything from her folks' place and hit the road to Dallas, to catch the super early flight Monday morning to St. Lucia for their honeymoon.

We hit San Antonio by 11:00, just in time to get swept up in the mass chaos that was checkout at the Menger Hotel, right as we needed to valet park to check in. But we were able to leave our bags, meet up with Bill and Julie at the hotel, and walk across the street to the Alamo.

By the way, the Mission portion has the deceptive Disney line, wrapping onto itself a million times in the queue and the oppressive heat meant we just toured the long barracks and grounds.

where we enjoyed the pool and just relaxed for the rest of the afternoon
after dinner, Bob and Jason hit up the Wax Museum, Sam went back to the room, and I got to explore the old hotel.
