Disney Graduation Trip Part 5: Mother's Day at Hollywood Studios

Sunday morning was our earliest day out to the parks, as there was an Early Morning Magic Hour available to the park for resort guests at 8:00. Since they have added the new Toy Story Land since we've last been, the newest coaster, Slinky Dog Dash, was unavailable as a Fast Pass selection, so first thing on this early hour was our best bet to ride it without a very long wait.

What was worrisome is that the Bus Board indicated there was no bus coming. Epcot and Animal Kingdom both have busses running, and those parks don't even open until 9! 

so Ali got us a Lyft ride to the front gates for $8 so we could be sure to get in and at the front of the crowd. Hundreds of us marched behind cast members walking us to the new area and every last one of us were headed for the same ride.

 

 

 

  

we met up with Sam, Jason, and Zach (Josh had headed home) and had a bit of time with them going through the Star Wars Landing Bay. In August, the new land of the park will be opened, entirely devoted to Star Wars included coasters and rides.

the four of us had Toy Story Mania Fast Passes so we cut back to Toy Story Land where we found the ride was down, no standby line, and our Fast Pass line finally started moving through a largely empty queue.

then we met back up with everyone at Muppets

I didn't think to get one with both Nick & Sammi for mother's day before it was too late

and after that Star Tours

nope, I was wrong, I got THREE photos of all six of together on this trip! (although two of them are roughly the same)

After our Sci Fi reservations, the four of us cut out from the park to do some laundry and cool off at the pool.

We noshed at the Old Faithful Club and Nick & Ali decided they were up for heading back out to the Magic Kingdom with me, which turned out to be the best Mother's Day present.
