March is Colorado's Snowiest Month, after all

So since it's been three weeks since I last checked in and the calendar flipped to March . . .

Looks like racoon tracks with those wide front prehensile hands and the longer back ones,
but very light on its feet.
Even the pups' weight was sinking well into the snow (top far right)

These two geese appeared to be waiting. Early to the party.

Our little group from the INELDA conference marked our one year anniversary of becoming friends . . . and the last weekend any of us would ever gather like this with anyone in the coming year.

Which brings us to this past weekend, when the snow was late to the party, but really showed up on Sunday.

the valance of snow that formed and slid over the roof became a main focus as it crept
further and further forward but never finally slid off. It dripped away in the sunshine instead.

that would be the walking path disappeared entirely

a view of the snow valance from the front

still didn't get enough to come close to the possible 4 feet they were predicting for the foothills

the final before (Saturday) and after (Monday) comparison: about 18 inches
