The Sunflower Patch
Jumping around a bit in chronology here as I am playing catch up at the end of summer for all these past months. Since I ended the bulk of May photos in the prior post, I wanted to pull together all of the sunflower progress that was made over the whole of the summer.

this month has been all about winnowing away the spent blooms and stalks and deadheading the strongest that are still putting on blooms

one month's growth, beginning of May above, end of May below
then here is the same spot in mid June
and then at the end of June, only a portion of the roof of the house is visible
these two above and below are 6 weeks apart between May and the end of June
this was peak blooms around July 4
