The Unsolved Woman in the Trunk Murder Mystery connected to the Hotel St. James 1920

The above clipping comes from the Kingston Daily Freeman and notes, as many other papers, that "no wounds were found on the body."

From the Syracuse Post Standard:

How this is possible when other papers on the same date, July 23, 1920 have the body already autopsied, with vital organs removed and missing? From the Oakland Tribune:

Just one day later, on July 24, the "clews" began in earnest. Now we have information that not only were organ removed surgically, but her tongue was removed and her knees broken.

None of suspects turns out to be the right man.

The case starts to go cold

1921

In November 1924 a recap of the cold case appeared in The Syracuse Herald

In 1925 another lead does not pan out and the case drops from memory

There doesn't appear to be much online regarding this case, although a recap can be found HERE.
