Last morning in NYC, and since we turned in early the night before after packing we were up and out ahead of the sun. Today's last bit: Rockefeller Center, a walk up Fifth Ave, the southern part of Central Park at least up through the Ramble, Lexington Diner for breakfast, back to Grand Central, over to Times Square, hit the Disney Store, grab some lunch, and then head for the airport.
the banner has been changed from Broadway is Back
to Welcome Back World.
It's the first week international travelers can arrive in NYC since March 2020
Chanel has something going on the plaza and at the rink this year
Saks Fifth Ave has the cranes working to set up their incredible light display for Christmas
We've already set our dates next year to finally do NYC at Christmastime so we can see everything all up and ready, including the tree at Rockefeller Center.
directly under the giant "PLEASE DON'T SLEEP ON THE STEPS"
is a person sleeping.
Steph said I had a follower for a long while
the lamposts always tell you where you are in regards to the cross streets: so we're at 77th street and we want to hit the 79th street transverse to get to breakfast
all told, we walked 38 miles on this trip.
The worst part was trying to get home. Both of us ran into issues, but Steph managed to get home at a decent hour. I was three hours late and getting sick by the time we finally got off the tarmac after sitting there for two hours. Getting home after midnight and then up and down to the bathroom starting at 3 a.m., I spent the next three days miserable and finally started to turn the corner on Saturday.
Still worth it :)
