4/30/2018 New Babies

Barkshop had a sale, so we have a new supply of babies to destroy around these parts.

The first thing out of the box was the Polaroid, so Aidan commandeered that. (Everything squeaks.)

The next thing out of the box was a bear, so Jake got that. At least, until Aidan took it. But Jake keeps taking it back.

We also have Squirrel Knight and his trusty steed and a dragon to slay.

or cuddle, as the case may be.

The pear trees in bloom are almost invisible behind the evergreen from my side.

4/30/18 Jake's First Month Home

It's the last day of April 2018, the month Jake found a home with us.

I don't know much about what his first home was like.  The person who left him at the shelter left notes that he would sleep with their kids, pulled on his leash on walks, and constantly wanted attention.

I don't know how you leave him behind after seven years.

I don't know why he's just now learning not to wince when I reach my hand out toward his head, or why it took some convincing that he didn't have to sit out in the yard, that I wanted him to be inside with me all the time.

But I know he's home now.

4/29/2018 Sunday sunrise

Got up early this morning to see if I could catch the full moon setting, but alas, too many clouds.

BUT, that meant, CLOUDS at sunrise! The whole week it's been clear and colorless in the mornings.

note the visitor, bottom right.

Aidan & Jake certainly did.

4/28/18 Gorgeous Saturday

I mean, honestly, this is a photo, from my car in the parking lot where I was sitting after picking up my glasses prescription. How can anyone live here and not appreciate how fantastic it is that we get to live in a place like this?

driving back toward the house

I decided to take a detour and check out some of the Littleton Crabapple Route before it was too late.

Most of these are snapped from the car, so the tint on the windshield makes them a little hazy.

dang power lines.

A visitor in the backyard!

4/26/2018 Sharing

I see you have a squeaky ball.

I, too, would like to share in that squeakiness.

shall we dance?

maaaaaaaa, he took my toy!

4/26/18 Morning

we're getting better at walking together these days!

Had a little circle of life moment on the walk this morning

This big guy wasn't moving as we walked by, which meant he had something great for breakfast.

Unfortunately, not so great for the tiny baby bunny.

Feel grateful this photo is blurred. He proceeded to fly off with the head into the nearby tree, leaving the rest for me to pull the dogs away from.

After we passed, he swooped back and picked up the rest and then hung it in the tree to feast on.

Then another crow showed up, insistent on sharing.

in the less grisly files, more blooms!
