Ice Castle 2020

For the second New Year's Day in a row, I visited the Ice Castle, grown from the first icicle into this multi-roomed, multi-slided space around LED lights buried inside.

This year, Deana was my adventure companion. It was considerably warmer than the 5° it was 1/1/19 but this time it was snowing. And that made for a treacherous, very ice, very slow drive back home. Our 90 minute drive time there was replaced by three hours getting back to Denver. Yeesh.

As always, the best time to see the place is right at sunset, so you can catch the golden hour ahead of real darkness. We entered around 4:40 and stayed until 6:00 for these photos.
