Thursday at Hollywood Studios 12/17/20

Thursday morning's sunrise was a dud -- lot of gray heavy clouds and the cool front had come through. Because the thermostat was set inside (as cold as I could make it) almost equal to outside, I left the sliding door open for a bit. When I went to shut it so we could get going, I found a visitor had taken refuge at the top of the doors!

He was safely redeposited outside in the grass, among the popcorn I'd spilled and the ducks had not deigned to eat.

Sadly, I was not able to score a boarding group for the super hard to get Rise of the Resistance at 7:00. They were literally gone in the first second. We had a second hope to try again at 2:00 in the park but didn't have any better luck then, either. Maybe next year.

We got to the park ahead of rope drop again and again, into the park ahead of the posted opening time.  All gray skies.

We made our way back to Toy Story Land to ride Slinky Dog Dash before the wait became prohibative for the rest of the day. (It's a REALLY short ride and people wait two hours for this thing. Uh, no. )

We're the butt seats!

We got in the longest line so far . . . to Starbucks. And watched the little remote Mandalorian Grogu walking the crosswalk.

Sammi and Jason made it!

We got in line for the new Mickey and Minnie Runaway Railway that none of us had yet experienced. It was put in place of the Great Movie Ride in the Graumann's Theater replica

Past Sci-Fi and into the Star Wars section that we've never seen!

We stood in a long line for the Millennium Falcon Smuggler's Run which wound around the Falcon itself.

We popped into Muppetvision for old times (and because we don't imagine it's going to be around much longer)

Miss Piggy comparison photo was one of the few we got (she no longer rotates in the fountain)

We hit Toy Story Mania next

and then it was time for a Num Num Cookie

a Covid version of the annual Stitch photo with Sammi . .  he just needs a mask

ok, so Stitch, Sci-Fi car, and Miss Piggy fountain : 3 whole comparison photos this trip!

more Christmas snacks: Chesnut Mousse Pine Cone and Red Velvet Whoopie Pie

up next, the old Star Wars ride, Star Tours, that is NOT in Star Wars land. I know, it's confusing.
And Muppetvision is right in between this ride and the new Star Wars Land. So, yeah. It's not looking good for the Muppets here.
