Thick cloud cover makes for great sunset shots, but it really stifles any full moon setting over the mountain attempts. When I got up to check out the eclipse I could tell the morning set was going to be thwarted, with big, dense cloud cover already over the foothills. I managed one right before it was swallowed up. (All of these were taken from the second story bedroom window, which saved me having to tromp around the neighborhood at 4:30 in the morning shivering in the dark.)
