I logged into the Reunion email account this morning so I could update the list of those paid and get it over to Stephanie who is handling the printing of the name tags when I  found this:

From: Amina Laboso
Hello Dear Friend,

I am Amina Laboso, a girl of 24 years old, originated from Nairobi-Kenya, East Africa, 5fit' and 7inches" tall, Fair in complexion, Single. I was raise up by a single Mother who was the former Assistant Minister of Home Affairs in my country before she died on plane crash June 10, 2008. My mother was a politician and was opportune to be in a ruling party and had handled many political appointment before she died. I am passing through unbearable intimidation and persecution from my step Father who happened to be a great politician as well, my step Father has threaten to assasinate me by all means because he wants to claim my money but i refused.

My late Mother willed all her property and money to me but she told the bank that before the money will be released to me that I must reach to the age of marriage or present a reliable Trustee (woman /man) to the bank before the money worth ($5.8 Million Dollars) can be release to me.

I will like to disclose much to you if you can help me claim the money and relocate in your country because my Step-Father has threatened to assassinate me which led me to seek an asylume as a refugee under the protection United Nation High Commssion for Refugee. I have confirmed from the bank that the money is still unclaimed. You will also help me to establish a good business in your Country and you will help me by recommending a nice University in your country so that I will complete my studies.

Please do keep this only to your self. I beg you not to disclose it to anybody until the money is

AND THAT'S WHERE IT ENDS!! Her stepfather must've gotten to her mid-email! But just think, if we could've helped help her out we'd have had 5.8 million dollar benefactor backing our reunion. Just imagine the reunion prizes!

And then the plot thickens. Just the day before that one was this:

Hello Dearest One,

I know this mail will come to you as a surprise since we haven't known or come across each other before considering the fact that I sourced your email contact through the Internet in search of trusted person who can assist me.

I am Vivia Musa Jammeh  24 years old female from the Republic of Gambia, the Daughter of Late Major Musa Jammeh. My late father was Principal Protection Officer to President Yahya Jammeh. He died on the 19 Nov 2007 at the Royal Victoria Teaching Hospital following an illness at Sukuta Village, Kombo North Gambia. You can read more about my father in the link below.

I am constrained to contact you because of the maltreatment which I am receiving from my step mother. She planned to take away all my late father's treasury and properties from me since the unexpected death of my beloved Father. Meanwhile I wanted to travel to Europe, but she hide away my international passport and other valuable documents. Luckily she did not discover where I kept my father's File which contained important documents. Now I am presently staying in the Mission Refugee camp in Burkina Faso. I am seeking for long term relationship and investment assistance. My father of blessed memory deposited the sum of US$ 7.5 Million in one bank in Burkina Faso with my name as the next of kin. I had contacted the Bank to clear the deposit but the Branch Manager told me that being a refugee, my status according to the local law does not authorize me to carry out the operation. However, he advised me to provide a trustee who will stand on my behalf. I had wanted to inform my stepmother about this deposit but I am afraid that she will not offer me anything after the release of the money.

Therefore, I decide to seek for your help in transferring the money into your bank account while I will relocate to your country and settle down with you. As you indicated your interest to help me I will give you the account number and the contact of the bank where my late beloved father deposited the money with my name as the next of kin. It is my intention to compensate you with 30% of the total money for your assistance and the balance shall be my investment in any profitable venture which you will recommend to me as have no any idea about foreign investment. Please all communications should be through email for confidential purposes.

Thanking you a lot in anticipation of your quick response. I will give you details in my next mail after receiving your acceptance mail to help me.
Yours sincerely
Miss Vivia Musa Jammeh

Which are must better figures to work with, since she's richer, and pins down the numbers at 30% for us. I could do a lot with $2.5 million, even if it does require "settling down" with someone else. Plus, instead of dear friend, I would be dearest "one" -- must more exclusive. And I'd rather defeat an evil step-mother who isn't going around offing people mid-emails anyway. Much safer.
