4/5/13 Sammi's Bluebird of Happiness

Yesterday Mrs. Wilson, Sam's art teacher, asked her if she could throw something together to put into the batch that a representative of the district would be perusing that evening. Sam came home covered in oil pant, with this little guy drying.

He is entirely fingerpainted.

He was at this stage when she left him last night. Then, thanks to communication breakdowns, she didn't get Mrs. Wilson's message that her painting had been selected and she needed to come to the art room instead of the assembly. So after school today she was touching him up and holding the hair dryer on him in a panic hoping he would dry in time, as the show guidelines state there can be no wet artwork.  When I picked her up, I asked, "did you get him dry? and her reply was, "Mom, it's oil paint. It doesn't dry completely in two years!" Still no word on whether they'll accept him, but here's the finished product.
