Jessie's 18th

Jessie's 18th birthday was yesterday, a little less than 7 months before Nick's. She chose Joe's Crab Shack for the birthday dinner, so after work we headed over to Parker and met Julie and Jenna, with Courtney (who arrived in the morning) in tow.

The new menu is overwhelming. I think we studied it for 15 minutes and still weren't sure what to order.

I love Courtney's prayerful pose over the menu here.

Shark Bite, similar to the Blue Lagoon at Planet Hollywood, complete with take home plastic shark, which I've now decided, having all of two, that it's my new collection.

Cjo's Gone Fishing was actually much tastier. And the fish is edible.

Still studying the menu.

Bob amuses himself by shooting straw wrappers down the table at Nick.

If I could get him in the car, he'd be a nice addition to my collection...

Nick chose the Orleans steam pot; Jessie's was the Old Bay steam pot. Nick's was so spicy he lost all feeling in his lips not too far in.

Bob's Crawfish Half and Half with fried and etouffee.

Um, yeah... anything served with its eyes is just not appealing to me.

The young man turning 17 at a nearby table had to ride a brookstick around the restaurant as a pony. Jessie got off easy. She just had to stand on a chair and wave her wand back and forth pronouncing, "I'm a pretty, pretty princess!" between each line of Happy Birthday sung to her.

Back to her house for presents and cake! (and balloons)

Candles lit

And blown out

Cake cut

And eaten on the deck on a beautiful night.

The WDWv 25th Anniversary embossed lithograph with Mickey and a little girl going up to the castle. The 25th was 1996, when Jessie would have been four, about the age of the little girl in the print.

And we're just 181 days out from the trip!
