I'm afraid my routine is becoming expected by the dogs. As soon as I walk in from my gym days, or as soon as we get back from school drop-off, they sit there by their leashes with the most expectant look in those huge brown eyes. How could we think of not going for a walk?
Since there is talk of a foot of snow on Wednesday, it's also a little bittersweet to see everyone's flowers so vibrant today and possibly dying the next. That knowledge makes them even more beautiful on our walk this morning. Yes, I'm a melancholy spirit to the core.
The remains of a pair of aspens make this bed a little melancholy, too.
The dogs find another snort bush to share. The mowers will be sweeping through the trails soon, so even the weeds that sport delicate and tiny blooms are facing numbered days.
As beautiful as the planted beds are this time of year, I'm still partial to the wild weeds that find a way to spring up and show off.
But the sky is more fascinating today. You face south/east and you see this:
Same spot on the trail, just turn around, and you face this:
The mottled sky won't last much longer today before we're covered in clouds.
And far to the west over the mountains, you can watch its approach.
So my burgeoning reputation of the neighborhood crazy lady with the camera probably got a big boost today as I was walking around in circles snapping pictures of the sky.
There is another sky,
Ever serene and fair,
And there is another sunshine,
Though it be darkness there...
The Brain—is wider than the Sky—
For—put them side by side—
The one the other will contain
With ease—and You—beside—
