Planting Day

The requisite Before shot of my empty teacup pots waiting to be filled.

My commercial for Miracle Grow, spiked with used coffee grounds.

The haul from Arapahoe Acres awaits planting! Last May our year old spruce tree had given up the ghost thanks to a terribly dry winter and Acres warranties their trees, so we were able to go back and choose another one. However, they didn't have the same size this time around so the rest of the money was given to us as store credit. Since I'd already done my flower planting, I saved it until this spring and cashed in.

Fill'er up and play in the dirt! yay!

Loving on the only full sun plant I couldn't live without, the blue sage. Didn't get any good closeups this afternoon. Stay tuned. It will stay on the back deck since it gets more sun back there throughout the afternoon.

Nothing like a little dirt under the finger nails to feel alive.

A drink of water and they're ready to go.

I love the trailing ones. Unfortunately, I made it out of the store without their names. The tag in the pot says impatiens, which they are most definitely not.

The mystery hanging plant is paired with the butterfly and hummingbird attractor called Dollar Princess Fuchsia. It's a mix of royal purple and red. How pretty is that?

The lavender flowers on the left are browallia hybrids called "endless illumination" that will spill over the sides of the cup as they grow. The big boy on the left is a Mocca Deep Orange tuberous begonia. I love the chocolate colored leaves.

And finally meet Yolanda (pink) and Martha (purple). Yes, they came with names. They are both strains of a Fuchsia hybrid called "Shadow Dancers."

All of these babies are partial shade lovers, so the morning sun on the front should make them happy.

We shall see!
