The picture is a bit dark, but the tree you see on the right of the first pic is the same as the tree on the left in the second. These are the trees from which leaves will fall for the next 6 weeks, filling the yard with orange and golden crunchy piles.
So imagine my surprise when, opening the back door for the dogs to go out this morning, I find this pretty little thing sitting, all alone, right in front of me.
There are no red-leafed trees I can find anywhere on the block behind or in front of us. It floated here, to this exact spot, Forrest Gump feather-like, just to make my day. My Gump leaf is now tucked away with the aspen leaves from a couple of weeks ago.
